10:30 a.m.: “Fly Guy and Other Stories” at the Shea Center for Performing Arts at William Patterson University in Wayne. This sensory-friendly, new musical revue is a compilation of popular children’s books and open only to classes and families with children with autism.

6:30 p.m.: Sesame Street Live: Elmo Makes Music at NJPAC in Newark. Monsters make music? Yes, they do, and in wonderful ways, too. Children learn that everyone can make and enjoy beautiful music together!

Saturday, October 8

ALL DAY 2nd Annual Hudson County Fair in North Bergen. Family-fun rides, games, raffles, and food.

10 a.m.: The Craft Show at Oktoberfest in Demarest. Now in its 35th years, the Craft Show features quality artisans from across the tri-state area. Also, German-themed music, drink, and food.

10 a.m.: Weekends at Lupardi’s Nursery in Closter. Fantastic fall activities and a brand new corn maze (repeats weekends through Halloween).

11 a.m.: Turtle Back Zoo’s Great Pumpkin Weekend in West Orange. Kick off fall with live music, a pumpkin carvers, animals, and more (through October 10).

8 p.m.: See KASHMIR, the nation’s #1 Led Zeppelin live stage show at the BergenPAC in Englewood.

Sunday, October 9

10:30 a.m.: Blessing of the Animals at Central Unitarian Church in Paramus. The congregation welcomes all furry, feathery, finny, and slithery pets and their human companions to this community gathering. Dogs must be leashed and, if required, muzzled. Smaller animals should be carried in kennels or cages or held securely.

5:30 p.m.: Mother, Can You Not? Event at Kaplen JCC on the Palisades. Come meet the mother-daughter team that created the wildly popular instagram account @crazyjewishmom. Kate Siegel and mom Kim Friedman will talk about Kate’s new book while they entertain us with their crazy mother-daughter bond.
