Halloween Pet Parades in NJ

What’s cuter than a puppy? A puppy dressed as a pumpkin.

Many pet owners dress their canine companions in sweaters, tutus, and jackets on a regular basis, but Halloween is the time to take it to the next level. Trick-or-treaters shouldn’t be the only ones appreciating your Chihuahua Princess Leia or your Great Dane Harry Potter. This year, show your pet’s costumes off to the masses at one of New Jersey’s Halloween pet parades and other spooky events.

12th Annual Pet Masquerade

October 22, 11:30am-2:30pm

Inn of the Hawke, 74 South Union Street, Lambertville, NJ

Parade begins at Mary Sheridan Park on York and several costume prizes will be awarded. Proceeds go to Animal Alliance, Rescue, Rehabilitation, Spay/Neuter, Adoption, and Planned Pethood Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic. Registration fee is $15.

3rd Annual Doggie Halloween Pawrade & Festival

October 29, 11:30am – 2pm

Arlington Depot Park, Kearny, NJ

Families and their costumed pets can visit the park for a free parade and other Halloween fun.

Pampered Pup’s 2nd Annual Barktoberfest 2016

Saturday, October 22, 10am – 4pm

2709 Mays Landing Road, Millville, NJ

There will be a pet costume contest at 2 p.m. along with adoptable dogs and a Chinese auction benefitting local animal rescue organizations.

Dog Walk of the Dead

October 22, 11am – 4pm

Sussex County Fairgrounds, 37 Plains Rd., Augusta, NJ

Dogs participate in the Z-Dog Walk (intended for Zombie dogs and their owners). The event includes vendors, costume contests, live music, adoptions, food, and a classic car show. Proceeds benefit One Step Closer Animal Rescue in Sparta, NJ. $2/adult, 12U/free

Fall Fest Dog Daycare Party

October 24 – 28, 9am – 4pm

Morris Animal Inn, 120 Sand Spring Road, Morristown, NJ

For up to five days, dogs can enjoy a hay maze, hay ride, pumpkin patch, costume party and more at this doggy daycare. Cost ranges from $69.95 to $299.

Howl-O-Ween

October 29, 12pm – 3pm

Riley Park, Bradley Beach, NJ

Bring your K9s to this free event that includes a dog costume contest, a pet talent show, pet adoptions, a dog ice cream cart, and the Pooch Parade at 2pm.
