Now until April 20, Presented by the Wall Street Journal
By Sarah Emily Gilbert
Madison Avenue is home to New York City’s most extravagant stores and fashion-forward retailers. This is particularly true when it comes to the thoroughfare’s selection of watches. Now until April 20, 2016, Madison Avenue invites watch connoisseurs and collectors to celebrate the industry’s finest timepieces at its 6th Annual Madison Avenue Watch Week (MAWW).
The luxury shops between 57th and 86th streets have opened their doors to the public for special watch-inspired events and offerings from timepiece launch parties to one-time exhibitions of rare watch collections. This year’s highlights include F.P. Journe Boutique’s exhibition of unique Tourbillon wristwatches in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of F.P. Journe’s first Tourbillon; Chopard Boutique’s exhibition of a special collection of high-end timepieces flown in from Geneva; watchmaking classes at Jaeger-LeCoultre; and complimentary customization on select styles of Diesel timepieces at their Madison Ave shop.
MAWW 2016 participants include A. Lange & Sohne, Asprey, Chopard, Degrisogono, Diesel, Faberge, Hublot, Freywille, F.P. Journe, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Panerai, and Vacheron Constantin. For a complete list of events and a map visit: www.madisonavenuewatchweek.com
