The Met’s Artist Project

Metropolitan Museum Launches Season 3 of The Artist Project, an Online Series Featuring 100 Artists and Works of Art at the Met That Spark Their Imagination
The Metropolitan Museum of Art has launched Season 3 of its online video series The Artist Project, in which 100 artists respond to works from the Met’s vast collection, which spans more than five millennia and cultures throughout the world. Season 1 of the series launched in March 2015.
Since its founding in 1870, the Met has been a place where artists go to gain inspiration from the art of their own time, and across time and cultures. The Artist Project shares with the public what artists today see when they look at the Met. In this online series, 100 artists have been invited to choose single works of art or galleries that spark their imaginations. Viewers will encounter a diverse group of artists who share their personal, passionate ways of seeing and experiencing art.
Season 3 includes Vito Acconci, Ann Agee, Diana Al-Hadid, Ghada Amer, Luis Camnitzer, Njideka Akunyili Crosby, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Wenda Gu, Ann Hamilton, An-My Lê, Kalup Linzy, Vik Muniz, James Nares, Cornelia Parker, Sheila Pepe, Raymond Pettibon, Matthew Ritchie, Annabeth Rosen, Shahzia Sikander, and Thomas Struth.
