Mother's Day at Presby Memorial Iris Gardens

 According to the Presby’s “Bloom Status” on their website, their irises should be at their peak in the third week of May, just before Mother’s Day. On May 14, the Essex County Memorial Iris Gardens will host a live jazz concert and outdoor picnic where sandwiches, lemon square desserts, chips and drinks will be offered in boxed lunches. Lawn chairs will be provided, but guests are welcome to cozy up with their own picnic blanket. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes access to the Bloom Room Gift Shop and a plant sale. Tickets are $20/person.

 Mother’s Day Weekend at Crystal Springs Resort

Celebrate mom for an entire weekend at this award-winning resort at 1 Wild Turkey Way in Hamburg. The Sussex County golf resort will be offering brunches, buffets, and 3-course dinners at their five resort locations on May 14. A spa package and a free game of golf are also available for moms to enjoy.

 Mother's Day Wine Trail

 What better way to celebrate Mom than with a weekend of wine? The Mother’s Day Wine Trail Weekend, organized by the Garden State Wine Growers Association, is running May 13-14 from noon to 5 p.m. and includes tastings, music, brunches, and more at wineries from Sussex to Cape May.

 Mother’s Day Brunch Cruise

 Spirit Cruises is offering a family brunch cruise on Mother’s Day. At 11:30 a.m. the yacht leaves Lincoln Harbor Marina in Weehawken for a two-hour ride along the Hudson. The cruise includes a brunch buffet and onboard entertainment including a DJ. If you can’t make the earlier cruise, climb onboard at 5 p.m. for the dinner cruise.

Summit Area YMCA Mother’s Day 5K

Burn some calories before your Mother’s Day Brunch at this 5K run/walk benefitting LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA, a free 12-week recovery program specifically designed for adult cancer survivors. The annual race includes a Tot Trot for Children five and under, bouncy houses, face painting, and balloon animals. The race starts at 7:30 a.m. at Memorial Field at 29 Park Avenue in Berkeley Heights. Register online for a pre-race day discount.

Mother’s Day Hike to the Women’s Monument

On May 14, celebrate all women by joining historical interpreter Eric Nelsen on a four-mile hike to the Women’s Monument that is dedicated to the women who helped preserve the Palisades in the 1920s. Participants should meet at the Park Headquarters in Apline at 11 a.m. to begin the hike to its summit.

Mother’s Day at Grounds for Sculpture

On May 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Moms and their families are invited to the 42-acre sculpture park in Hamilton for a day of art, entertainment, and entrees from Rats Restaurant. On view for Mother’s Day is “Elyn Zimmerman: Winder, Water, Stone,” “That’s Worth Celebrating: The Life and Work of the Johnson Family,” “Daniel Clayman: Radiant Landscape,” and many more engaging exhibitions.

 Mother’s Day Brunch & Baseball

Make this year’s Mother’s Day a homerun by taking Mom to see the Trenton Thunder versus Harrisburg on May 14 at 1 p.m. During the game, head over to the stadium’s Yankee Club & Conference Center for their annual Mother’s Day brunch and baseball event that is complete with a Beach Tote Giveaway. It’s a win for the entire family!

Mother’s Day Brunch at Winberie’s

Winberie’s at 2 Kent Place Boulevard in Summit and One Palmer Square in Princeton are taking reservations for their Mother’s Day Brunch on May 14. The Summit brunch runs from 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. and the Princeton brunch runs from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Both events include a complimentary Bloody Mary, Screwdriver, or Mimosa.
